i’m sure i’m not the only one who’s ever read something really quickly and thought it said something else.

Here we have a brown paper bag filled with something called Lump Charcoal:

But when you’re walking really quickly on a hot summer day and you’re wearing thick heavy pants and suffering from the early stages of heat stroke AND you glance the bag at an angle:

Clearly, it says “Pimp Control.”

i celebrated my first Father’s Day this past weekend.

It brought about some funny feelings and memories for me, because i’ve never associated the day with anything positive. It’s always brought to mind “Mrs. Hogan, i don’t HAVE to make a card. i’m allowed to just COLOUR, because i don’t HAVE a father.”

That, and of course, closed-down amusement parks. Here then is a tribute to my father for Father’s Day:

Because i live in a big city, i’m no stranger to lewd storefront signs beckoning me into their seedy dens. i’ve seen everything from “Come get wet with the hot tub girls” to “Party all night in our VIP room.”
